RMO
"What Restriction Movement Order taught you ?"
Recently, I have found this question on social media either on Instagram or Twitter.
The new virus, Covid-19 outbreak had spread in our country and killed a large number of people. Restriction Movement Order is one of the government's initiative to prevent the citizens from infected by the virus. The people are told to stay at home and limit their movement outside their house. Personally, it is hard for me to accept the situation where I can't go anywhere and just stay inside the house because I am an outdoor person. At first, I found it is quite frustrating to stay at home and not be able to do my routine like running and hiking like usual. But as the time passes, I try to adapt the situation and change my point of view on this Restriction Movement Order.
I start to make a list on beneficial activities and new skills that I can learn during this moment. Surprisingly, I started to like on what I'm doing right now. There are many benefits that I can gain from this hard times. Firstly, I get to spend my time with my family. The part that I like the most is we can perform the prayer together for every prayer time. After we have done our prayer, there will be Al-Quran recitation and we will check on each other reading. This activity is so meaningful and at the same time I can bring myself closer to Allah.
Other than that, everyday I have the chance to learn how to cook many type of dishes from my mother. As I study far away from my home, I have least chance to spend my time with my mother, with this opportunity, I get to spend my time with her and in the same time I can improve my cooking skills.
Other than that, the online classes that have been organised by the lecturers, help me to improve my skills on IT. There are many applications and software that I manage to explore to complete my online learning. I can apply this knowledge in the future as a teacher. Teaching and learning would be more fun if we include ICT elements in it.
In conclusion, the Restriction Movement Order is not that bad or frustrating like what I think before. It has turned to a quality time that I can spend with my family and learning new skills. However, I still pray that everything will go back to normal soon as deep in my heart I miss to do outdoor activities like before. I hope that everyone will have a good time during this 'RMO' too.
Stay safe and stay at home !
